Star Crushed Lacquers Review & Swatches!

Hey Polish Lovers!!

Today I have a review & swatches of Star Crushed Lacquers for you!
Star Crushed Lacquers came about after the owner of Star Crushed Minerals, Edie, had the brilliant idea of using her mineral shadows in polish. She recently consolidated the two shops into one (Star Crushed Minerals) so you can get your all natural, handmade shadows, foundation, etc. and polish all in one spot.
Edie is an amazing woman who juggles her career, Husband, and four (Yes, 4!) kids. She is one of the nicest people I have come in contact with in the polish/cosmetics online world. She strives at excellence and achieves it every time (in my humble opinion). I am very glad I placed my first order several months ago, when her shop was still fairly new. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to write her as she is always happy to help!

These 5 Star Crushed Lacquers were sent to me to review, with a purchase I made of SCM. I am going to do the Star Crushed Minerals in another post, so hold tight and be on the lookout.

Let's get to it!

From Left to Right:
Hot Pink, Magenta, Top Coat, Red Blackberry, & Teal Sparkle.
All of my swatches are done with a base coat & Star Crushed Lacquers Top Coat. SCL Top Coat dries super fast and gives amazing shine!

Hot Pink is the most beautiful bright pink color with lots of holo glitter. This is three very thin coats, which dries almost instantly. The application was smooth and the coverage was good. I love this color!!

Magenta is a purple polish, again, packed with tons of sparkle! Oh my.... I'm not a huge purple fan... but I love this!! This is two regular coats. Again, the coverage was good & was very smooth going on.

Red Blackberry is a deep burgundy-ish color with very fine multicolored glitter. This is two coats of RB. Once again, the application was smooth and the coverage was good. Another that I love! Perfect for fall & winter!

Last, but not least, is Teal Sparkle. And does it ever live up to it's name! The most beautiful teal color with amazing sparkle!! Two coats & smooth coverage! Look at the shine of the SCL Top coat, too!

I can't choose a favorite out of these polishes! They are all stunning!

Have you tried Star Crushed Lacquers yet? If not, check out her Etsy page, here, and click "Nail Lacquer" on the left. She is currently having a sale...50% off!! Don't forget to look at her mineral makeup while you're there!

Also, make sure you "Like" her Facebook page! She keeps you up-to-date on sales and new products!

Keep a look-out for my next post, which will be of Star Crushed Minerals shadows & foundation.

Until next time,
Love your polish!!

Classic Films Swatches, Review, & SALE!!!

Hey Polish Lovers!!

Today I have swatches, a review, and a sale from Classic Films!
Classic Films Cosmetics was started by Anna in June of 2012. She chose the name "Classic Films" due to her love of fashion (how classics don't go out of style) and cinema.
Currently she has 13 polishes in her shop. She just added three new polishes on September 19th, which is also the day her sale started! Stay tuned for a coupon code for 20% off your order!

Anna sent me 7 polishes to swatch & review, so let's get to it!

The first four, from left to right:
Sunset Boulevard, Lured, D.O.A., & They Live by Night

The last three, from left to right:
Impact, Lady in the Lake, & Spellbound

All swatches are done with a base and top coat.

Sunset Boulevard is described as a rich combination of gold, copper, caramel, and bronze hex glitter... topped off with a bit of purple.
In this first swatch, there is one coat & ring finger has two coats.
This second swatch of Sunset Boulevard is a gradient over a gold polish I made.
I love Sunset Boulevard for Fall & Winter! It's the perfect time of year for this polish!

Lured is described as having a lot of gold in it! Gold pigments, holo hexes, and holo squares. It also has turquoise and purple holographic glitter. This polish was inspired by a dress that Anna loved, but obviously couldn't wear every single day.
There is only one swatch of this polish; that's all you need to see the beauty of it. The swatch is two coats.
I am in love with this polish. It's perfect for any time of year and is definitely something special, like the dress that inspired it.

D.O.A. is described as being all about a foundation of gunmetal. It is made interesting with pastel green and lavender hex glitter, silver holo slices, and iridescent shreds.
The swatch below is two coats.

The next swatch is one coat (ring finger has two coats) over black.
D.O.A. can be dressed up or down. You can use it over any color and has the perfect amount of glamour!

They Live by Night is described as having a pinch of red glitter combined with blue and gunmetal glitter & pigment. It is topped off with silver holo moons and stars.
Like Lured, there is only one swatch of They Live by Night. It is two coats.
This is a great polish that you can choose to or not to use the moons and stars. I love the effect of it! Another great polish for Fall & Winter!

Impact is described as being grounded in a very light, silvery pink base...loaded with black dots, diamonds and bars. It is topped off with hot pink hexes and cotton candy shreds.
The first swatch is one coat, two coats on ring finger.

The second swatch is one coat (two on ring finger) over white.
I love all the elements in this polish! It's very unique and definitely has Impact!

Lady in the Lake is described as having a light silvery-blue base with just a hint of rose-pink glitter and gold flakes.
This first swatch is two coats.

The second swatch is one coat over Broadway "O! Jessica"
Another amazing polish that you can use alone or over another polish. Try it over red to have more of a purple tone...you can play around with color combos and I bet every single one will look amazing!

Spellbound is described as having a pink pigment base with lavender, sunshine, and white glitter. It is topped off with lavender daisies and hot orange hearts.
First swatch is one coat (two on ring finger).

Second, and last swatch, is one coat over black.
Again, a polish that can be used alone or layered over any color to get a different look every time. It's a very girly polish and you can choose to use the daisies and hearts, or leave them in the bottle.

I loved swatching Classic Films' polishes! She does a great job at making polish that is very versatile and can be used in many different ways!

I feel like I am forgetting something... But don't think so...

Just kidding!!!!

Polishnv Review & Swatches

Hey Polish Lovers!

Today is a review and swatches from Polishnv.
Polishnv is a Mother/Daughter team who love everything that is beauty related. They started selling polish on Etsy in March of 2013.

I got a blogger discount on 3 polishes that I chose. I decided to get two thermal polishes and a holographic polish.

From Left to Right:
O'Shaughnessy's Chameleon, Pink Flamingo, Fe's Chameleon

First is O'Shaughnessy's Chameleon
It is a beautiful blue/green thermal polish that changes to lime green with heat. It has tons of holographic glitter and is just gorgeous!

Next up is Pink Flamingo
Pink Flamingo is a deep pink holographic polish. I am in love. I didn't want to take it off to swatch more polish. Once I am finished with reviews, this is definitely going back on.

Last is Fe's Chameleon
Fe's Chameleon is a breath taking periwinkle purple that changes to an amazing dark purple when cold. It also has holographic glitter in it. The polish in the bottle shows the lightest color and the tips of my nails shows the darkest color of the change. Another great polish!

I am so happy that I chose these three polishes! Polishnv makes it hard to choose. Their polish is beautiful and unique. I couldn't be more pleased with these three. I honestly didn't know how I would feel about thermal polish, because I didn't own any prior to these... but I love them!! They are so neat! If you don't have any thermal polish, get some from Polishnv... you won't be disappointed.

To check out Polishnv on Etsy, just click here.

Don't forget to "like" their Facebook page!

I hope you enjoyed my review and swatches from Polishnv.

Until next time,
Love your polish.

Northern Star Polish Swatches & Review

Hey Polish Lovers!

Today I have a review & swatches from Northern Star Polish. I was sent their Halloween set which will be released September 15th, 2013.
Northern Star Polish got started in March of 2012. They strive to use high quality & durable ingredients in their polish, which means their polish is never  diluted with clear top coat, they use stainless steel agitator balls, solvent resistant glitter, and proper suspension base. All of their polish is 4-Free: DBP, Toulene, Formeldehyde, and Formeldeyde-resin free. Northern Star personally test all glitter and pigment for months before using them in their products. All polish goes through a holding & testing period before it is released for sale.
Northern Star Polish comes in two sizes: Small is 9 mL/0.3 oz for $5.50 and Full Size is 15 mL/0.5 oz for $8.50.
All the polish in their Halloween collection are distinct, but work well together. They are great for fall!

First up, a photo of all the polish I was sent.
The only reason Bella Morte looks low is because I forgot to take this photo prior to swatching (oopsie!).
From Left to Right: Pumpkinlicious, Twisted Treat, Bella Morte, Macabre Delight, and Phantasmagoric.

Every one of these polishes went on smooth and without any problems. The application was easy and the coverage was good. They didn't have an extremely strong smell. I am very pleased with this brand. If you haven't tried Northern Star Polish, you have to!

Twisted Treat
Twisted Treat is a black polish with orange shimmer.
This is two coats over a base coat. I also have top coat on. It is absolutely gorgeous and is a must have for Fall!

Pumpkinlicious
Pumpkinlicious had a clear base with gold, burnt orange, and green glitter. In this photo it is two coats over Twisted Treat. I also have on a top coat.
This is another amazing polish for fall. It would look good over almost any fall color and is packed with glitter. I love it!

Bella Morte
Bella Morte is a blood red jelly polish with matte red glitter and black flakes.
In this photo I have on two coats over a base coat. Again, I have on a top coat.
This polish is a beautiful red. It's bright but not over-powering. It did not stain my nails or skin at all. I love the glitter in it! It would look good with any skin tone!

Macabre Delight
It is described as a blue jelly with various shades of purple and neon green glitter. It is pictured here over a base coat and under a top coat. It is two coats of the polish.
This polish is awesome! It would be great for any season! It looks to me to be more of a purple color. The picture is true to color on my screen. Whether it is blue or purple doesn't matter, it's amazing!

Phantasmagoric
Phantasmagoric is a teal jelly with red-violet-blue color shifting glitter. It is pictured with two coats in between base & top coat. For this polish, I had to do two photos. The first is a straight shot with flash. The second is a side shot to try to capture the color shifting glitter.
This is such a beautiful color- even without the color shifting glitter. It's the perfect teal color and with the color shift--- it's breathtaking. I can't even describe how pretty this is. You have to see it in person to get the full effect!

I absolutely love this whole collection! It's great for fall!! I had a blast swatching theses.

Don't forget to visit Northern Star Polish on Facebook!

I hope you enjoyed my review & swatches of Northern Star's Halloween Collection! Don't forget, it will be released September 15th!

Love your polish!

Polish Revolution "F'ing Classy"

Hey Polish Lovers!

Today I have F'ing Classy made by Polish Revolution.
I won this polish from a giveaway they were having.

When I received the polish in the mail, it came with their business card and a nifty Polish Revolution sticker.

This polish is crazy beautiful. It's all small holographic hexagon glitter in a clear base. It is made up of different shades of purple and teal glitter. I think there are also some silver holographic glitter. To say this polish is packed with glitter is an understatement. There isn't anything to describe it's intensity.

On to what's what; Ring finger ~ 2 Coats, Middle finger ~ 1 coat over white, Ring finger ~ 1 thicker coat over black, Pinkie Finger - 1 coat over Pure Ice "Kissy Kiss".

This is a beautiful polish that you can pair with any color and it will look good.

If you would like to purchase F'ing Classy, you can do so by visiting Polish Revolution on Etsy.
A full size bottle of this beauty is $9.00

Don't forget to check out Polish Revolution on Facebook and tel her I sent ya!

I hope you enjoyed my review and swatch of F'ing Classy.

Until next time,
Love your polish.

Sick Lacquers Swatches & Review

Hey Polish Lovers!

Today I have two polishes that I am swatched and am reviewing from Sick Lacquers.
Sick Lacquers is a shop on Etsy that opened in December of 2012. It is run by Peggie and her son, Jonathan. All of their polish is handmade and 3-Free. They current have 10 pages of polish... yes, 10! And if you still can't find exactly what you're looking for, they also take requests for your very own custom polish. Their polish starts at $2.50 and goes up from there. These polishes were sent to me for review.

On the left is Itty Bitty Neon Pretty and on the right is Mysterious Ways.
Both of the polishes are crellies. They are glitter polish with a cream/jelly base. Both of these are awesome! I am a crelly fanatic, so I am very excited to review them.

First off is Itty Bitty Neon Pretty.
It is a very light pink base with purple, pink, light pink, and white glitter in varying sizes. All the glitter in this polish is hexagon shaped. It has a thicker base, but is still pretty sheer, which I like. If the base was opaque, you wouldn't be able to see the beautiful glitter.
Shown here is two coats plus top coat.

Next is Mysterious Ways.
It is almost an opaque white base with all kinds of glitter. It has so many different colors. The glitter is different sizes and looks to be mainly hexagon shaped with some squares thrown in here and there. This polish is a little thinner and dries super fast. I couldn't believe how fast it dried. This polish is great for every day. You don't have to worry if your polish will match your outfit; trust me, it will.
Shown here is two coats plus top coat.

I love and am impressed with both of these polishes. The application was stress free and very smooth. The glitter was not fussy coming out and I did not have to use my brush to place any. They both had great coverage.

If you would like to purchase either of these or check out some of their other polish, you can do it by visiting SickLacquers on Etsy.
For a mini in either of these, it is $3.50 and full size is $7.00.

They also have a Facebook page, which is Sick Lacquers.

I hope you enjoyed my review and swatches of Sick Lacquers. Go check them out; you won't be disappointed!!

Until next time,
Love your polish.

Lush Lacquer Review

Hey Polish Lovers!

Today I have 3 Lush Lacquer polishes to share with you! I am so excited that I can't contain it! I am in love with Lush. Their polishes are amazing and Karin & Lexi are two of the nicest people you will ever come in contact with. Let's get to it.

The Lush Lacquer polishes that I have are:
(from L-R)
Freckles
It's a Breeze
Chick's Rule

First up: Freckles!!!

I am in love with Freckles! I think it is my fav of these three polishes. It is a mix of small and very small hex glitter in a clear base. The colors are all neon and consist of pink, green, blue, purple, orange, and yellow. One coat is the perfect amount, but for a little more pizzazz, you can do two or more coats!

This swatch is one coat over NYC French White Tip.

Next up: It's a Breeze

Another polish I am absolutely in love with. It's a breeze is a white base with hex and circle glitter that are large, medium, small, and very small. The neon colors consist of yellow, green, and blue. There are blue holographic large and medium sized circle glitter that really sets this polish off. The base seems a little runny, but if you use a lighter coat, it dries fast and is still packed with glitter. The larger glitter are a little harder to fish out, but they are gorgeous.

This swatch is two coats.

Last, but not least: Chick's Rule

Yes, they do! This is proven with Karin and Lexi's girly polish. Chick's Rule consists of large, medium, small, and very small hex glitter. The amazing color combo is all neon: pink, purple, and orange. This is another winner. In one coat, it has just the right amount of glitter. In two coats, you won't be disappointed.

This swatch is one coat over NYC French Tip White

I couldn't be more pleased with these polishes. No wonder everyone loves Lush! They have converted me from main stream polish to indie. Indies are now my favorite.

Thank you, Lexi & Karin. You women are amazing!

If you would like to purchase Freckles, It's a Breeze, Chick's Rule, or any of Lush Lacquer's amazing polishes, you can check out their Etsy store HERE

They also have a Facebook page and could always use more fans! To check them out on Facebook, click HERE.

I hope you have enjoyed my review!

Until next time,
Love your Polish!!

Glitter Me This Swatches

Hey Polish Lovers!

Today I have swatches & reviews of polishes that I won from Glitter Me This.
I was sent 4 glitter polishes. All of the swatches are two coats without a top coat.  Here they are!

The first polish is a gold crellie base with small gold holographic hex glitter and a few large silver hex glitter. As you can see, I only managed to get one of the larger pieces of glitter out. It is on my ring finger. I actually love this polish, though. Even without the large hex glitter. This will probably be one of my go-to polishes for the fall!

The second polish is a purple jelly base with small purple hex glitter and medium sized holographic hex glitter. The coverage is pretty good. I like this for a go-to purple glitter polish.

The third polish has a clear base with small holographic pink glitter and large holographic teal flower glitter. I really like this! Would definitely look better with something underneath, but for swatching purposes, I opted out. As you can see, it was much easier getting the large glitter out of this polish. Very cute!

Last, but not least, is a very light blue crellie base with blue and silver  holographic mini bars and purple holographic diamonds. This is another polish that would look much better with another color underneath. I do have to say, though.. it is my favorite out of the four. I absolutely love the colors together and the fact that it has a crellie base makes me happy, happy, happy!

I hope you enjoyed my swatches & review! Stay tuned for more!

Until next time, love your polish!

Polish Love Nail Polish

Hey Polish Lovers!

I am going be posting the polish I make.. Bare with me as I try to start blogging more. I am very new at this and am still learning.

This first polish is a blue crellie with neon pink, neon green, and neon blue hex glitter.
This polish is currently un-named. If anyone has a good name for it, leave me a comment!

This polish is a light mint color with black bars.
It is called "Mint Chocolate Chip"

This polish is a mix of lots of neon glitter. It has neon squares, stars, shreds, and very fine hex glitter. The colors in this polish are all neon; yellow, pink, green, orange, and blue.
It is called "Sprinkle Spring"

The next polish is a mix of very fine silver holographic hexagons, black bars, and blue stars.
It is called "Stars & Bars" and is shown here over Rimmel London (60 Seconds), Mintilicious.

The next polish is a light pink with very fine silver holographic hexagons.
It is called "Peaches & Cream"

Last but definitely not least is the polish I made in memory of Talia Joy. It is a mint shade with iridescent glitter.
It is called "Pure Joy"

That is all the polishes I have to show for now. I have made many more, but need to do swatches for them. Once again, if anyone has a good name for the first polish, please leave me a comment. Hope you enjoyed!

Until next time, love your polish!
